INFORMATION ABOUT THE ORGANIZATION

IES Campanillas is a public center in Malaga that has been working on European projects since 1987. The main objectives

of the center appear in our center plan, within the general lines of pedagogical action:

• Integration and equity.
• Integral formation.
• Respect and coexistence.
• Education in values and skills.
• Respect for the environment and sports culture
• European projection and languages
• Use of TIC

 

ACTIVITIES

The main areas where the volunteers will be involved are

All activities revolve around inclusion:

• Meeting with students from various levels of Secondary and High Scool
• Participation in extracurricular activities (excursions)

Work in the classroom with students of the center, through group work with students working on principles of solidarity, democracy, and tolerance.

Participation in the classroom with students of the center, conducting an activity around the values of solidarity and volunteering. The idea is that the volunteer tells the students of the center what European volunteering consists of and gives a brief presentation about his or her country of origin.

Exchange of ideas with students of the canter, allowing interaction of ideas.

Secretarial support with administrative tasks. Allows volunteers to get to know the inner workings of a school.

Participate in the task and participation in the preparation of some kind of activity to be conducted.

Registration of titles and updating of database.

During the project, the realization of cultural exchange is from great importance to us. Our volunteers will play a great role in the development of their own and the student’s social and cultural skills. As a volunteer, you will be able to meet a large amount of people with different backgrounds and ages. This will help to achieve a new point of view of Spain.

It is possible that the volunteers will also gain knowledge about new technology as we work with websites, graphic designs, videogames, video editing, etc.

• The volunteer will also be able to improve their Spanish skills. Our working language is English.
• Volunteers will work in the normal working hours with the mentor or the person in charge for the activity.
• The team in charge will provide all necessary information in order to make the volunteer’s experience as enjoyable as possible.

Volunteers will have access to computers, photocopies and all the resources at the school.

LIVING COST

Volunteers can cook their meals in their flats, you will receive 150 euros each month.

Accommodation

Accommodation includes an individual room in a rented flat shared with other ESC volunteers or young people. You will have access to a full equipped kitchen, essential household goods, and central services (electricity, water, gas), which will be covered by the hosting organization. Internet connection cannot be guaranteed.

The volunteer will have to pay a 300 euros deposit that will be reimbursed at the end of the project, assuming the flat is left in good condition.

Pocket money

Each volunteer will be given a monthly allowance of 150 euro for personal needs

Local transport

Every volunteer will get the chance to get their bus card reimbursed by the hosting organization.

Language support

Every volunteer could improve their language skills with the official online language support platform.

Holidays

The volunteer will have the same holiday as the rest of the association.

Volunteer profile

We are looking for optimistic and energetic people. We would like to work with creative and open-minded people, who are looking for new challenges and are willing to participate in a cultural exchange.

It is an advantage if the volunteer has both English and Spanish skills. However, previous knowledge of Spanish is not a must, if the motivation to learn the language is high.
