EXPERIENCIA CES, KSENIJA EN MALAGA

En 2024–2025 tuve la oportunidad de participar en un proyecto del Cuerpo Europeo de Solidaridad en Málaga, España. El proyecto tuvo lugar en el centro de formación profesional CPIFP Alan Turing, ubicado en el Parque Tecnológico de Málaga – un lugar donde se encuentran la innovación y la cooperación internacional. Durante el proyecto trabajé como voluntaria junto a profesores, estudiantes y otros voluntarios de distintos países. Mis principales tareas fueron apoyar los proyectos Erasmus+ y otras iniciativas internacionales, dirigir talleres sobre competencias blandas y lengua inglesa, crear contenido para redes sociales y participar en la organización de eventos culturales.

Esta experiencia me aportó muchísimo. Mejoré mis competencias digitales, mi capacidad de planificar y gestionar proyectos, gané confianza al hablar en público y aprendí a colaborar en equipos interculturales. He desarrollado tanto mi inteligencia emocional como mi capacidad de adaptarme a situaciones cambiantes. Lo que más destaco es la sensación de haber estado en un lugar donde realmente podía utilizar mis fortalezas y mi creatividad.

Por supuesto, también hubo desafíos. Al principio tuve que adaptarme a las diferencias culturales – especialmente en el entorno escolar, donde el estilo de comunicación y la organización del trabajo eran distintos a los de Letonia. También fue un reto convivir con otros voluntarios de diversas culturas, con hábitos y ritmos de vida diferentes. Otro desafío fue la gestión del tiempo y del presupuesto – Málaga ofrece muchas oportunidades, pero hay que aprender a establecer prioridades para aprovechar al máximo el tiempo.

De momento no tengo planes concretos para el futuro, pero he comprendido que quiero trabajar con personas. Esta experiencia me mostró que lo que más me apasiona es la educación y el trabajo en proyectos internacionales – tanto en Letonia como fuera de ella. Junto con otros voluntarios, desarrollamos un Proyecto Solidario, y recibimos la financiación.

En mi opinión, participar en este tipo de proyectos merece totalmente la pena para cualquier joven. Es una oportunidad no solo para aportar algo a los demás, sino también para aprender mucho sobre uno mismo – sobre tus valores, capacidades y límites. Si estás preparado para los desafíos, eres abierto con los demás y deseas crecer tanto profesional como personalmente – recomiendo de corazón participar en el Cuerpo Europeo de Solidarida

In 2024–2025, I had the opportunity to participate in a European Solidarity Corps project in Malaga, Spain. The project took place at CPIFP Alan Turing, a vocational education center located in the Málaga TechPark – a place where innovation and international collaboration meet. During the project, I worked as a volunteer alongside teachers, students, and other volunteers from different countries. My main tasks were supporting Erasmus+ and other international projects, leading workshops on soft skills and English, creating content for social media, and helping organize cultural events.

This experience gave me a lot. I improved my digital skills, developed my ability to plan and manage projects, gained confidence in public speaking, and learned how to collaborate in an intercultural team. I enhanced both my emotional intelligence and my ability to adapt to changing situations. Most of all, I felt that in this project, doing this job, I was in a place where I could truly use my strengths and creativity.

Of course, there were also challenges. At first, I had to get used to cultural differences – especially in the school environment, where the communication style and work organization differed from what I was used to in Latvia. I also had to adapt to living with other volunteers from different cultures, with different habits and lifestyles. Another challenge was managing my time and budget – Málaga offers many opportunities, but you need to learn to prioritize in order to use your time meaningfully.

I don’t have specific future plans yet, but this project helped me make an important discovery about myself – I want to work with people and I’m good at it. This experience showed me that I’m most passionate about education and international project work – both in Latvia and abroad. Together with other volunteers, we developed a Solidarity Project, and we received the funding.

In my opinion, taking part in projects like this is definitely worth it for any young person. It’s a chance not only to give something to others, but also learn a lot about yourself – your values, abilities, and limits. If you’re ready for challenges, open to other people, and want to grow both professionally and personally – I truly recommend trying the European Solidarity Corps.
