EXPERIENCIA SVE: GORDANA EN MÁLAGA

Nuestra super-voluntaria Gordana Najdovska, que pasó con nosotros 11 meses, ha terminado su proyecto y vuelto a Macedonia. Hizo su Servicio Voluntario Europeo en Principia (museo de ciencia interactivo) en Málaga y ahora nos cuenta su bonita experiencia – en español y en inglés.

Los que pueden, hacer. Los que pueden hacer más, voluntario.

Hace dos años yo estaba sentada con mis amigas hablando sobre el mundo en que vivimos y lo que podemos hacer para que sea un lugar mejor. Entonces me acordé de que una vez  mi amigo me hablaba de una organización que está haciendo trabajo voluntario en mi país, así que decidimos visitarlo. Me enteré de que no sólo puedo ser voluntario en mi país, también puedo ser voluntaria en el extranjero. Y así es como empezó.

Yo quería ir a algún lugar donde pueda conocer nueva cultura, lejos de mi país. Y es por eso elijo Málaga, y el más importante – mi proyecto en Principia museo de la ciencia . Cuando todo estuvo listo, me salió a la carretera y volé a Málaga. Me esperaba mucho pero me dio aún más. Todavía me acuerdo de la llegada en el apartamento y las cálidas sonrisas de mis compañeras de piso. Es tan bueno cuando tienes tantas culturas diferentes en un solo lugar. Siempre tenía amigos de extranjero , pero vivir con alguien que no es del mismo país que usted es mucho mejor ! Compartimos opiniones, los alimentos , los hábitos y los problemas , pero al final también aprendio más sobre mi misma y mi país.

Saliendo era cosa totalmente diferente. Con la ayuda de la gente que vive en Málaga, nos estábamos convirtiendo andaluces y poco a poco he aceptado el hecho de que las tiendas cerca de 2 a 5 pm. Conocer más y más gente de España me di cuenta de que no somos diferentes del todo . Las únicas diferencias se encontraban en la comida y el mar. Me encantó la playa y los paseos por los lugares paradisiacos que forman parte de Málaga. Realmente echo de Paseo del Parque y los grandes árboles y flores.

Tuve la oportunidad de viajar por todo y más que vi más que yo quería ver . Cada ciudad era hermosa en su propio camino, pero como me di cuenta en Andalucía todos ellos tienen una cosa en común – las fortalezas. Cuando entré en el interior de las fortalezas yo estaba realmente sorprendida por los jardines y los fuentes.

Antes de venir pensaba que yo sé un montón de cosas sobre la ciencia, pero la primera vez que fui al museo de la ciencia Principia , estaba tan sorprendida y al mismo tiempo asustada. Yo estaba estudiando la química, la física , la biología y las matemáticas en la escuela , pero  explicar las cosas a los niños que vienen al museo en español me asusto mucho. Yo siempre estaba interesada en hacer experimentos y aprender sobre las estrellas y las planetas y esto fue como un sueño olvidado hecho realidad . Cada día aprendí cosas nuevas acerca de la ciencia y los niños y viajé de un planeta a otra. Nunca supe lo que puedo hacer frente a la conducta de los niños y tengo su atención , pero me di cuenta de que es más fácil de lo que creo . Había tantos buenos momentos que nunca olvidaré ! De la gente que trabajan allí aprendi que la ciencia puede ser interesante y divertida al mismo tiempo.

Siento que he hecho un montón de cosas buenas este año, no sólo para mí sino también para las personas que me rodean . He aprendido español , la ciencia y he visitado lugares hermosos. Yo estaba muy feliz de vivir junto al mar y conocer tantos gentes buenos. Pero la historia no termina aquí …. Esto es sólo el principio …. 🙂

Those who can, do. Those who can do more, volunteer. 

Two years ago I was sitting with my friends and we were talking about the world we live in and what can we do to make it a better place. Then I remembered that once my friend was telling me about one organization that is doing voluntary work in my country, so we decided to visit it. I found out that not only I can be a volunteer in my country I can also be volunteer abroad. And that is how it started. 

I wanted to go somewhere where I can meet new culture far away from my country. And that is why I choose Malaga, and the most important- my project in Principia science museum. When everything was ready I hit the road and flew to Malaga. I was expecting a lot but I got even more. I still remember the arriving in the apartment and the warm smiles of my roommates. It is so good when you have so many different cultures in one place. I was always having friends from abroad but living with someone that is not from the same country as you are is much better! You share opinions, food, habits and problems but in the end you also learn more about you and your country.

Going out was totally different thing. Helped by the people who live in Malaga, we were becoming Andalusians and little by little I accepted the fact that the shops close from 2 to 5pm. Getting to know more and more Spanish people I realized that we are not different at all. The only differences were in the food and the sea. I loved the beach and the walks in the beautiful places that are part of Malaga. I really miss Paseo del Parque and the big trees and flowers. 

I had the chance to travel around and more I saw more I wanted to see. Every city was beautiful on its own way but as I noticed  in Andalucia all of them have one thing in common – the fortresses. When I walked inside the fortresses I was really amazed by the gardens and the fountains.  

Before I came I thought that I know a lot of things about science but the first time I went to the museum of science Principia, I was so amazed and at the same time scared. I was studying chemistry, physics, biology and mathematics at school but explaining those things to the children that come to the museum in Spanish was scaring me a lot. I was always  interested in doing experiments and learning about the stars and planets and this was like some forgotten  dream come true. Every day I learned new things about science and children and traveled from one planet to another. I never knew I can deal with children’s behavior and got their attention but I realized that is easier than I think.  There were so many good moments that I will never forget! The people that work there thought me that science can be interesting and fun at the same time.

I feel that I have done a lot of good things this year, not only for me but also for the people around me. I have learned Spanish, science and saw beautiful places. I was really happy to live by the sea and meet so many good people. But the story doesn’t finish here….This is just the beginning….:)
