Descripción del proyecto:
The project idea was developed with the representatives of the partner organizations involved in the previous projects (that are also ConNet’s partners). The partners’ representatives together with Italian and Hungarian volunteers elaborated the project proposal starting from the evaluation of past experiences and the analysis of existing needs. In particular, the final event of the past project (“Change! Cambia!”) gave the possibility to the representatives of the organizations to get in touch with two international networks (of which the CO is a member) to which the project and its results were presented: the Phiren Amenca network (www. phirenamenca.eu) and EDYN (www.edyn.org).
Participation in international networking events has been a significant experience that has widened the perspectives of collaboration and development of international volunteer programs.
From this experience came the idea of developing a project focused on networking. Some of the organizations involved are not part of any international network but – over the years of international volunteering projects in which they have been involved – they started to develop key competencies for the management and training of volunteers and international cooperation. The need that has emerged at this point is to learn and analyze the work of networking, understanding its opportunities and potential, especially in the development of specific skills needed to build, maintain or collaborate in an international network such as intercultural communication, teamwork, the capacity for dialogue and exchange, decision making, conflict management, democratic participation and peace building, leadership and followership.
The partners want to experiment themselves offering the possibility to increase their skills in cooperation, not just to get involved, but to be themselves promoters of new opportunities. The project will enable organizations to build further relationships, to start up and manage new networks, increasing their professional and international dimension. The project aims at empowering volunteers and organizations in order to increase entrepreneurial and managerial capacity, to start new projects at local and international level.
